Volavion – Cartagena Airport
Overview
Cartagena, Colombia has been a client since 2021. Volavion was tasked to recover and grow airline capacity lost in the pandemic. Whilst a rising tourism destination, a clear route development strategy was needed in order to maximise the economic impact of passenger growth in the most sustainable way possible.
How we did it?
Data, Strategy, Stakeholder Collaboration and Implementation.
Using aviation market data combined with tourism and airport data we have produced a robust airline strategy for the city. All route development stakeholders have been taken into consideration and a Cartagena Route Development Committee (CRDC) was formed. Together as a team we meet with airlines at key events and airline missions globally as well as conduct regular training and updates on aviation and incentivisation.
International Market Growth
By bringing in new services and working with stakeholders we have stimulated the international market. The Cartegena aviation market has risen in popularity and we have grown strategically along with room stock growth.
Airline Capacity
Volavion has helped Cartagena recover lost capacity from the pandemic and airline service changes. From 2021 we have also helped grow international airline capacity through new services with a growth of +58% in ASKs (Available Seat Kilometres)
